What would happen if….

we measured passion, purpose and joy instead of skills and content?

What would happen if instead of judging our schools based on test scores and passing rates, we evaluated them based on their ability inspire students’ passion, help students shape their purpose and create joyful learning communities?  What would happen?

Seem outlandish?  Consider this quotation from Wagner:

We teach and test things most students have no interest in and will never need, and facts that they can Google and will forget as soon as the test is over. Because of this, the longer kids are in school, the less motivated they become. Gallup’s recent survey showed student engagement going from 80 percent in fifth grade to 40 percent in high school.

What would an education system built to produce passionate purposeful learners look like?
