Student engagement. On Monday, we shared some finding from Eric Jensen’s new book Engaging Students with Poverty in Mind. Jensen discusses the importance of teachers making specific moves to shift students into a ready-to-learn state. To do this, he suggests everything from using music and chants to asking compelling questions. Today we wanted to share some images of what an engaging classroom could look like. We hope it gives you some ideas on how you can help your students be ready for learning.
